Emirates Premium Economy
If you know me, you’ll know that I only fly Emirates internationally. It is truly the best airline in the sky. Don’t @ me! I have flown everything from Economy to First. I will say, travelling Economy Class with a woman sitting next to you using her iPad to take photos of everything and getting up every hour, on top of spilling into your seat is not ideal - but it gets the job done. Business Class is huge jump from “cattle class” with chauffer to and from the airport, lounge access, lie flat seats, open bar on board (with champagne, might I add) and a lot of storage space at your seat.
So Emirates has seen a market that falls in-between, Premium Economy. The airline received it’s first fleet of A380s with the new cabin and will roll out more into 2022, including Boeing 777X planes, also they plan to retrofit some of their existing A380s. What’s new you ask well: the configuration inside the cabin is 2-4-2 layout. Emirates’ premium economy seat is 19.5 inches wide, and reclines 8 inches (2 inches more than economy) into a comfortable cradle position with ample room to stretch out. Covered in cream-coloured anti-stain leather with stitching details and a wood panel finishing similar to Business Class, each seat is designed to provide optimal comfort and support with 6-way adjustable headrests, calf rests and footrests.
Each seat has a 13.3” screen, one of the largest in its class, to enjoy the unmatched array of music, movies, TV, news and other content on Emirates’ award-winning ice.
Customers will also find thoughtful touches including easily accessible in-seat charging points, a wide dining table and side cocktail table.
I tried looking at prices, but where on earth will I be going right now? Also, it’s not available on all flights just yet, so I’m sure it will take sometime to roll out. Hopefully, we will be able to travel soon when Miss Rona has left.
