Billie Eilish on Carpool Karaoke

Now look, I will be the first to admit that when I learnt of Billie Eilish, I thought nothing of her. The androgyny, the dark music videos, the lack of washing…not my aesthetic…at all. I am very disappointed with the poor quality of music that is put out over the last decade. I like my stars and musicians: weaves on fleek, hoe heels, hot choreography and a heavy bass line with sexy skimpy outfits to compliment. Call me superficial, I don’t care. Yes, I’ve heard “bad guy” all over radio and “you should see me in a crown” on HBO’s hit TV show Euphoria - thought nothing of her. I don’t know her! It took, DJ Kent’s (yes, a whole DJ Kent) mix on 94.7 for me to Shazaam and hear the track “everything I wanted”, and think: Who is this?

This began my discovery of the indie pop musician. Watching her music videos, interviews and the latest with James Corden, on his undeserving Emmy winning show “Carpool Karaoke”. Eilish accompanies Corden on his commute to work, and they belt out her biggest hits, before stopping at her childhood home, where she still resides, with her mother, dad and songwriting and producer brother Finneas , cat dog and spider which makes an appearance on the segment of the show. So, do I think she deserves the Grammy for Best New Artist over Lizzo - absolutely! Is she talented? Of course. Do I think she still needs a bath? Definitely. You need to see her performance with Alicia Keys below.
